Exploring Russian Disinformation in the MENAT Region

As part of this project, we investigate the impact of Russian disinformation in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey (MENAT), focusing on how false narratives shape perceptions of Poland and Central Europe. We aim to provide reliable information and develop tools to help audiences distinguish facts from manipulation, promoting accurate knowledge and raising public awareness.

OUR MISSION

Strengthening resilience against disinformation

We research and monitor Russian disinformation in the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, producing in-depth analyses and reports to raise awareness about disinformation techniques, source verification methods and their impact on perceptions of Poland and Central Europe. We also host debates, seminars and training sessions to support education and build resilience to disinformation.

We aim to educate individuals on recognising manipulation techniques and provide the tools needed to identify them.

Our materials enhance awareness and understanding of the risks associated with information manipulation, helping readers grasp the mechanisms and techniques used in disinformation.

The Middle East as a focal point of russian disinformation

Our activities centre on analysing Russian disinformation campaigns in the Middle East, Turkey and North Africa aimed at Poland and Central Europe. We provide researchers, analysts and journalists with the tools and knowledge to better identify manipulation and disseminate fact-based information.

Middle East

A geographic and cultural region at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa. Traditionally, it extends from the eastern Mediterranean to Iran in the east, Turkey in the north and the Arabian Peninsula in the south.

North Africa

A geographic region comprising the northern part of the African continent, south of the Mediterranean Sea. It traditionally includes Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.

Turkey

A transcontinental country at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, with most of its territory in Asia Minor and a smaller part in Europe. It borders countries in both the Middle East and the Balkans.

We uncover the mechanisms of Russian disinformation targeting Poland and Central Europe in the Middle East, Turkey and North Africa region.
